"I believe in the runner's high, and I believe that those who are passionate about running are the ones who experience it to the fullest degree possible. To me, the runner's high is a sensational reaction to a great run! It's an exhilarating feeling of satisfaction and achievement. It's like being on top of the world, and truthfully... there's nothing else quite like it!"

The hardest part of training is often getting out the door. Right now I am sitting at my computer, and instead of being outside running I am reading about running and writing about running, but when I do finally get outside I know it will be great!
I am 6 weeks away from the Cascade Crest 100, and I am upping my mileage to the 100 a week zone for the next 4 weeks. The hard part has been balancing nagging pains, but still getting the mileage in.

Here are some pictures from some of my recent training runs on the Bay Area Ridge Trail, following the bike path from my house to Lake Almaden, to Calero Creek, and then Santa Teresa Park.

This is an addition to a course I had previously run, which totals 16 miles out and back. For the most part the course is pretty flat, but there are many nice views of the Southbay.
